Our suggested starting point
Trial ZenMaid first when your main concern is organizing a maid service. Trial Jobber first when you want a broader field-service workflow spanning quotes, jobs and customer billing. These are editorial starting points from vendor documentation—not hands-on findings or a claim that either is universally better.

What this comparison covers
This guide is for US cleaning businesses with an owner and a small team. We reviewed official feature and pricing pages. We did not test either application, measure support response times or verify customer-satisfaction claims. Prices are USD before taxes and extras and should be checked before purchase.
Jobber: what the documentation confirms
Jobber describes cleaning workflows for recurring visits, scheduling, invoicing and customer management. Its commercial-cleaning page also describes batch invoicing and automatic payments for recurring contracts. Availability is plan-dependent.
Its pricing page places online booking, scheduling, quotes, invoicing and online payments in Core. Connect adds reminders, automatic payments, checklists, quote and invoice follow-ups, QuickBooks Online sync, and time and expense tracking. Grow adds job costing, two-way SMS and custom automations.
ZenMaid: what the documentation confirms
ZenMaid is positioned around maid-service operations. Its website describes calendar-based scheduling and invoicing, while its help documentation covers recurring appointments. Its live pricing page lists online payments through Stripe and Square, booking forms and QuickBooks integration. Confirm each feature's plan and scope for your account.
Compare the same number of people
| Configuration | Jobber: no-commitment monthly | ZenMaid: dated documented monthly rates |
|---|---|---|
| Owner only | Core: $49 | Starter: $19; Pro: $39 |
| Owner + 3 cleaners | Connect, up to 5 users: $199 | Pro: $81 |
| Owner + 9 cleaners | Connect, up to 10 users: $299 | Pro: $165 |
These are subscription examples, not equivalent feature bundles. Jobber's October 4, 2026 pricing page lists annual-billing equivalents of $29 for Core, $149 for up-to-five-user Connect and $229 for up-to-ten-user Connect. Annual prepayment differs from monthly no-commitment billing.
ZenMaid's June 4, 2026 help article lists Pro at $39 plus $14 per additional active profile, producing $81 for the owner plus three cleaners and $165 for the owner plus nine. It lists Starter at $19 plus $4 per extra profile, and SMS bundles from $14 for 125 messages. Because numeric prices were not exposed in the retrieved live calculator, these remain dated published examples, not a verified current checkout quote.

Scheduling: test changes, not just a normal week
Create five weekly customers, three fortnightly customers and one move-out clean in each trial. Then:
- Move one visit without changing the full recurring series.
- Replace an assigned cleaner for one appointment.
- Add an extra service to one visit.
- Check the updated schedule from the cleaner's phone.
- Review exactly which notifications would be sent.
Use test contacts you control. Record which steps are obvious, need help or are unavailable on the proposed plan. See the full cleaning scheduling trial.
Invoicing: follow one job through to payment
Create a sample invoice and inspect the service description, due date and payment instructions. Then investigate a partial payment, refund and overdue balance. For recurring customers, test your actual billing pattern. If you use accounting software, verify the direction of synchronization and how corrections behave. Continue with our cleaning invoicing guide.
Mobile access and staff permissions
Ask a cleaner to use their normal device. Can they find the next address, read instructions and report completion without calling the office? Check access to customer contact details, internal notes and prices. Ask about lost connectivity rather than assuming offline operation.
Questions that can change the final cost
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Which staff roles are billable? | The starting price may cover fewer people than you need. |
| Which reminders use paid messages? | Message usage can add to the subscription. |
| What payment fees apply? | Processing cost depends on volume and transaction type. |
| Does the required integration cost extra? | A connected product may need its own subscription. |
| Can I export customers, appointments and invoices? | You need a practical exit and backup process. |
| What happens when I cancel? | Commitment and post-cancellation access affect the decision. |
Which should you trial first?
For a maid-service owner, our first trial candidate would be ZenMaid because of its product focus. For a wider field-service process or a specific Jobber integration, we would start with Jobber. Score both on recurring scheduling, rescheduling, cleaner mobile use, invoicing and data export. Reject any product missing a non-negotiable requirement, then compare the full quoted cost.
Frequently asked questions
Is ZenMaid always cheaper?
No. Features, active profiles, appointment volume, messaging and payment usage can change the total. Compare an actual configuration, not starting prices.
Does Jobber's lowest price cover a small crew?
No. The Core example here is for one user; do not budget it for several staff accounts.
Should I pay annually immediately?
Complete the workflow trial first. A discounted annual rate only helps when the software fits and you accept the commitment.
Has FieldAppScout tested these products?
No. This is a documentation-based comparison without firsthand test results.
